Startup Başakşehir Brings Entrepreneurs and Investors Together

With its strong focus on technology and innovation, Başakşehir Municipality brought together entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and investors through a collaboration with in4startups and Asya Ventures. Held under the name Startup Başakşehir, the event featured four key activities, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, corporate executives, and academics from across the entrepreneurship ecosystem under one roof.

The event also served as a platform to announce Başakşehir Municipality’s 2024 entrepreneurship vision, and featured the awards ceremony for the Promising Startups Competition, the Asya Ventures Startup Investment Summit, and the launch of the book “Promising Startups: 7 Case Studies, 7 Startup Stories.”

“Your Ideas and Projects Will Add Strength to Our Nation”

Speaking at the event, Mayor Yasin Kartoğlu emphasized the role of innovative entrepreneurs in contributing to Türkiye’s national technology vision, known as the “Century of Türkiye” initiative:

“Your ideas, projects, and efforts will add strength to ours. We know that strength comes from unity. Together, we will walk toward our country’s great goals. Our greatest desire is to see innovative ideas transformed into high value-added commercial products.”

Book Launch: Promising Startups – 7 Case Studies, 7 Startup Stories

At the summit, the official launch was held for the book “Promising Startups: 7 Case Studies, 7 Startup Stories,” published by Optimist and written by Ahmet Sefa Bir and Şerafettin Özsoy.
The book explores the journeys of seven successful startups, each presented as a detailed case study. Readers gain insights not only into the entrepreneurs’ inspiring stories, but also into the business models and strategic growth paths of these ventures.

The startups featured in the book—all of which have successfully raised investment and are known for their innovative products and services—include:

Awards for the Promising Startups Competition

The award ceremony for the Promising Startups Competition was also held as part of the event. Among 72 finalist projects, 12 winning startups received their awards. In addition, several NGOs, institutions, and executives that have contributed to the promotion of entrepreneurship were recognized and honored.

One-on-One Investor Meetings & Strategic Investments

In the final part of the event, entrepreneurs and investors had the chance to meet one-on-one as part of the Startup Investment Summit. A total of 84 startup-investor meetings were held during the summit, creating opportunities for partnerships and funding.

During the summit, a signing ceremony was held for Asya Ventures’ investment in CoolREG, a startup developing climate control technologies. The investment marks another step in strengthening Türkiye’s innovation-driven economy.
